How to Use This Feature

Ticket Type and Category Creation in Dropdown Feature

Summary

This feature allows event setup users to create ticket type categories and ticket types from the event set up page. The goal is to empower users to define new ticket types/categories on the fly, ensuring flexibility and reducing setup friction.

Behavior

  • In event series setup:
  • + Users can see existing categories and have an option to create a new category directly from the dropdown.

    + Newly created categories are saved and immediately available in the dropdown for selection.

  • In single event setup:
  • + Users can see existing categories and have an option to create a new category directly from the dropdown.

    + Newly created categories are saved and immediately available in the dropdown for selection.

    Requirements

  • Existing categories must be visible in the dropdown.
  • A "create new" option must trigger a modal or inline form where users can define the new category/type (name, attributes).
  • New categories/types must be unique and meet required naming rules.
  • Users must still be able to override or edit categories/types later if needed.
  • Acceptance Criteria

    The feature passes QA testing for all scenarios.
